8-week live program · Small group
Feeling stuck at an advanced level?
You understand most English—but not everything.
You’ve taken classes, but you don’t see real progress.
Your writing still feels unclear or inconsistent.
You don’t feel ready for exams or academic work.
Most advanced learners get stuck because they don’t have the right system.

Christinah Mulder, M.A. TESOL - 7 years teaching and tutoring experience, specializing in advanced academic English and TOEFL prep.I specialize in teaching adult learners at the intermediate to advanced level. I've helped students increase their TOEFL scores; I've helped students successfully prepare for and begin university study; I've helped students gain the confidence they need to pursue professional licenses and advance toward promotion in their careers.Over time, I noticed that many advanced learners stop improving—not because they lack ability, but because they don’t have the right system. Academic-level English has a massive vocabulary. Academic-level writing feels daunting. And somehow, we're always stuck on the grammar.Thankfully, now more than ever, there are tools to help overcome these hurdles. This course is designed to help you take advantage of those tools and change the narrative of being "stuck."My goal is not just to help you improve during these 8 weeks, but to give you the tools to continue improving long after the course ends.
Write clear, structured academic essays

In this free 45-minute virtual workshop, I'll dive into more detail about the issues I've seen my advanced students face--and the solutions I see possible. I'll give you a sneak peek into what we'll do in this program and answer any questions you may still have. I look forward to seeing you there!
1. What is the application process?
The application form is brief and should only take about 10-15 minutes. You'll be asked to answer some questions about your English level and your goals to determine whether this course is a good fit for you. After submitting the form, you can expect to receive an email from me directly to confirm your enrollment in the course and give instructions for payment and preparation for your cohort's first meeting.
2. How do you accept payment?
Payment will be completed using the global digital platform Stripe. Payment can be made all at once (up to 48 hours after your acceptance letter) or broken into two payments, with the first payment due 48 hours after your acceptance letter and the second payment due four weeks later. Payment plans are not available for early bird pricing.
3. In what timezone will meetings take place?
As the instructor is based in the Salt Lake City, Utah, USA area, all meetings will take place in Mountain Daylight time (UTC-6). Please consider how this impacts scheduling in your timezone before applying.
Will there be "homework?"
The premise of the program is to teach you how to use the tools provided to study independently. As such, there will be an expectation that you spend time outside of our meetings practicing the tools we use in class. Self-study expectations will not exceed two hours per week. You will also have several structured writing assignments.
5. What platform will be used for meetings? And will they be recorded if I miss a class?
We will use Zoom for meetings. All meetings will be recorded, and you can request access to a recorded meeting if you miss one. However, there will be a limit of one recorded meeting (for the condensed Saturday cohort) or two recorded meetings (for the Tuesday/Thursday cohort) that you can request access to if you need to miss a meeting. This is to ensure motivation to attend live, where the entire cohort benefits from real-time feedback and interaction. Please consider your schedule and whether you can commit to attend all (or almost all) meetings at the scheduled time.
6. Is there a refund policy?
If, after completing payment, you realize that you will be unable to attend/complete the program, you can request a full refund up to the first cohort meeting (June 9th for the Tuesday/Thursday cohort and June 13th for the Saturday cohort). After the first meeting of the cohort, there will be no refunds. However, if for any reason you are unable to complete the program, we can defer your enrollment to a future cohort on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions or concerns about the quality of the cohort instruction, you are always welcome to reach out to me directly so that we can ensure we are working directly toward your goals.
